Western North Carolina & Eastern Tennessee

October 24 - November 3, 2024

People across multiple states are hurting and need help & hope in response to damage caused by Hurricane Helene. To accomplish that, we are in urgent need of volunteers to assist in our disaster response efforts. Your help is crucial to providing aid and relief to those who have been impacted. We are currently working to provide local (Tri State/Greater Cincinnati area) help with downed trees AND additional relief efforts to the flash-flooded areas around western N. Carolina & eastern Tennessee.
We need volunteers to help with:
– Offering emotional and spiritual care
– Providing support to families in need
– Assisting with tree debris, flood clean-up, and rebuilding efforts
– Hospitality
– Administration / communications
Locally Based Opportunities:

Multiple homeowners across the Tri State have reported tree damage from the effects of Hurrican Helene. We will be helping them this week to manage that damage and get it cleaned up ASAP. This will only be for a few days as damage reported is limited.

We will only be using MOD TRAINED sawyers to utilize saws to cut trees. Volunteers will be able to assist as limb pullers and perform general debris cleanup.

Western Kentucky Deployment

October 24 - November 3, 2024

We are reaching out with a heartfelt invitation to join us on a mission trip back to Western Kentucky, where our hands, hearts, and faith are needed to help rebuild and restore the lives of those affected by recent tornado events.
On Saturday, October 11th from 9a-Noon we will be helping Leslise get the exterior home not only presentable, but beautiful again. There are a variety of tasks that need to be done that day. She has a deck that will need to be stained, bushes that need to be removed, landscaping that needs to be weeded, edged and cleaned up. And, if we are able, some mulching and tree trimming.
Trip Details:
Dates: October 24th – November 3rd, 2024
Location: Western Kentucky – Dawson Springs, Morton’s Gap, Madisonville
Accommodation and Meals: Provided for all volunteers
Skills Needed: No specific skills required – just a willing heart and a readiness to serve! (**Unless you’re on the saw team, then you need to have taken our MOD saw training**)
Flexibility: We want to focus on 2 long weekends…arrive on Thursday evening, work Friday through Sunday at noon, and then travel home on Sunday afternoon. With daily availability during the week between the 2 weekends as well. You can choose the days you can serve during the signup process.

Masters of Disaster recognizes that in addition to the call of those in need in the aftermath of a natural disaster, there are those who fight a daily battle of tackling the mounting tasks needed to keep up with their home. Encountering financial, emotional, and even physical obstacles can be paralyzing, and as they take the fight before them, even the most routine of tasks can be taxing. Before they know it, they find themselves in a hopeless situation. In light of these often unnoticed battles, Master of Disasters has willfully stepped forward into the gap.
